Cowboys (towns), Indians (museums), Family, Views and Cacti galore - and the fun has continued. It has been a great week.
Dick had to have his cut reopened on Thursday as it didn't heal as well as it could have - but said he never felt a thing!! I watched - I think it hurt me more than him. We actually had a couple of cloudy days (no rain), so my company got to see that Arizona does have something besides wall-to-wall sunshine.
Dick's 79th on Sunday and we were blessed with family calls and well-wishes. We went to a fun place for dinner - an old converted western ranch house, complete with the old corral, out buildings, and great food and atmosphere. Now he get's to say he's in his 80th year.

Enjoying Arizona's constant sunshine

After two years of terrible British weather and no sun, my two sisters glory in the constant sunshine, warmth and Arizona colors. What fun! Indian ruins, a Wildlife Museum, Western movie studio and replica town, a Stagecoach Ride (How did those people go two thousand miles in those things!!), and Desert Gardens have been part of our last week - with lots more fun ahead.
We thoroughly enjoyed an Indian museum which had many books written by Indians. There is something about their simple logic that I greatly enjoy and it did bring to mind one of my favorite stories; An old Cherokee was talking to his grandson and told him about the battle that goes on inside people. He said the battle is between two wolves. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other one is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. The grandson thought for a minute and then asked his grandfather "which wolf wins?". The old Cherokee simply replied - The one you feed!
Love that one.

We have been blessed this past week, with my sister and sister-in-law visiting from England and the desert put on a show seldom seen. With the wettest winter (Arizona style) this past few months - the color has been spectacular. To begin with the total desert is green and one by one the wild flowers have come out, and the cacti have bloomed. Quite a sight.
With Dick improving all the time, he has been a wonderful chauffeur and we have played tourist - all new to he and I too. Mair & Kitty will be here for another couple of weeks so we've lots more to see............
