It's March 31, 2010 and Mindy and Marie, with Kody and Kayden just left after a couple of great days together. They showed me their blogs and I wondered, should I? So have decided I'm going to try it for a while. Jan/Feb/March this year have been hugely eventful, starting with Dick's health issues resulting in a hospital stay in January which has resulted in his being on oxygen full time, and also resulted in their discovering a lump in his right breast. February saw test after test, with the result it WAS breast cancer and last week he had a complete mastectomy. As he calls it - he had a girlie operation! He's doing fine so we are truly grateful for that, and also grateful for the issues that took him into hospital in the first place. Without those tests we would never have known about the cancer. The result is they caught it in its very earliest stages and they are confident they have it all - it had NOT gone into the lymph nodes and he doesn't need chemo or radiation. God works in remarkable ways.
The beginning of this year brought some great visits. Louise and Cheyenne were with us to open the new year, also Debbie and Evan came for a few days. Cousins Phyllis and Janice spent a day with us. Suzanne and James came for a weekend - and as said, we have just enjoyed Marie, Mindy, Kody and Kayden. We are blessed with a wonderful family and have been truly touched by the prayers and well-wishes we had with Dick's health issues.
I'm going to make a sincere effort to post photos and activities in the coming months and hope that some of you are interested in hearing from me.
